None of these are staged, I just found them all like this

Pet moments from this past week
Bachelor Cake: Step by Step
1. Recipe for cake: 1 yellow box mix + 4 eggs + 1 packet dream whip + 1 cup cold water + 1 tsp maple flavor (optional), mix with hand beaters for 4 minutes. Add in chocolate chips (which I later regret, it made the cake too unstable for carving.) Bake for 32 minutes at 350 degrees in a greased rectangle baking pan. When it's finished flip the cake out of the pan and onto a flat tray.
Project Progress: Up-Cycled T-Shirt Rug
We cleaned out our closets this past week and I made yarn from three t-shirts that we no longer needed and were too crappy to donate. I’ve done this one other time, I’ll take a pic of that finished rug too.
The Colin and Brad Show! 05-11-12 Baltimore
Last night was the second time we saw Colin and Brad perform live at Lyric. I love Colin Mochery and I always wanted to do the moving people skit with him because I thought I could do better than the volunteers they called up on the tv show. This impossible goal was number 2 on my bucket list. The first time we went there they called us up on stage to do the moving people skit! We had a great time participating on stage, although I will say it’s hard to move them when you’re laughing so hard.
Pets Update: Chunk & Maddy
Chunk's update:
I talked to the vet this morning who said that Chunk has not vomited during his stay and is hydrated! They said he is well enough to come home! The only prob remaining is that he hasn't eaten anything during his stay, so with all the vomiting he probably hasn't digested any food in at least 3 days. As long as he eats something while he's home he can stay here, and it's a great sign that he'll recover.
New Personal Project Goal: Learn How To Do Up-Do's
I was watching a movie where this woman was pinning her hair up, and the end result was beautiful. I got distracted from the movie and started thinking- could I do that? would my hair even cooperate? how awesome would my hair look? how hard could it be?
Challenge accepted.
The plan:
New Personal Project Goal: Learn to Play Electric Guitar
Whenever I hear, see, smell or otherwise sense something I enjoy, I like to figure out how to do it. For example I liked this one wine so I decided to learn how to make it. Did you even know you can make your own wine at your house, and it’s actually pretty easy? Well you can, it was, and I did it but I can talk about that later.
So I just go about my day and random learning ideas pop up. This is my latest one-
Pray for Chunk!
Poor Chunky is spending the night at the vet's tonight. He was acting lethargic, vomiting and wouldn't eat anything. Thankfully Brooks recognized the symptoms and took him to the vet.
Here's the vet's report: Chunk was so dehydrated that they were unable to put an IV in his stubby legs (the vet's words, not mine). They had to put water under his skin instead and hope in the morning they can get an IV in. Chunk tested positive for pancreatitis so they have him on antibiotics as well. They also did an x-ray and found a collection of bone shard fragments in his stomach.
He said that bone meal in cat food is normal, so not to be worried about them. I've been feeding my cat bone shards! Iams Sensitive Systems with Bone Shards!
NY City Pictures
Pictures from our trip a few weeks ago- most are from the AMX showroom at Time's Square
Memorable events from our trip:
I saw a man reach into his mouth like he was picking out some food, and instead, when he pulled his fingers out he had one of his teeth!
We saw Evita featuring Ricky Martin which was absolutely excellent. My favorite part was the audience's reaction to him on stage which was just as entertaining as his singing. One lady a few rows ahead of us was holding up a Puerto Rican flag.

Project Progress Check: stripe cotton rug
Made from 100% cotton yarn using white, pink and brown.
The pattern is made up (since I can't red patterns). The stitch is similar to my blanket posted before this one except it's 7 double crochet in one single stitch with 2 anchor single crochets on either side so that it makes a flat fan shape.
I hope to put this in our bathroom when I'm finished
Project Progress Check: colorful blanket
I started this last Monday. I'm kind of tired of hats so I started a blanket with Easter colors, but most people would probably consider these baby colors.
It's about 3.5 feet wide and I used a stitch that I made up (since I can't read patterns). I will probably use 6 colors in total and it will be about 4 or 5 feet long.
Protein Bars: Quest
My aunt gave me a Strawberry Cheesecake Quest protein bar to try the other day.

Wow, these things are great. 1 to 3g sugar, under 200 calories, 20+ grams of protein, most have - under 4 net carbs. Most importantly they taste really good- even Brooks approved!
Today we went to the Vitamin Shoppe to try all the flavors and see which ones we'd like to get in boxes.
These are a list of the flavors we got, and I'll update as we eat them-
